INTRODUCTION
The history of School of Public Health of Zhengzhou University can be traced back to the Hygiene Section of the Medical School of Henan Sun Yat-Sen University which was
established in 1928 in Kaifeng, Henan. The medical school became independent of the university in 1952 and was named Henan Medical College and relocated to Zhengzhou
City. The Department of Hygiene was established in 1978 and offered bachelor degree education. In 1984, Henan Medical College was renamed as Henan Medical University
and the Department of Hygiene was upgraded to College of Public Health in 1993. In 2000, Henan Medical University was merged to the expanded Zhengzhou University and
Zhengzhou University College of Public Health was then established. The college possesses key public health disciplines including epidemiology and biostatistics,
occupational and environmental hygiene, nutrition and food hygiene, maternal and childhood health, toxicology, health inspection, social medicine and health education,
health policy and health management. The college also boasts of having a National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centre for Public Health and Preventive Medicine
and several ministry- or province-level research centres and laboratories. The college offers undergraduate programs in preventive medicine which is both National
Special and First-class Teaching Program and recruits undergraduate students nationwide. Meanwhile, the college also offers doctoral and master degree programs
including MPH and postdoctoral training program in all the areas of public health and preventive medicine. Its openings in faculty, doctoral and master student
positions open to talents nationally and worldwide.
