

Professor Guangcai Duan is the Dean of the College of Public Health, and the former President of Xinxiang Medical University. Additionally, Prof. Duan is the chairman of the Public Health Branch of Chinese Medical Association (CMA) and the Official Advisor of the Socio-Medical Affairs Committee of World Medical Association (WMA).
Prof. Duan's research is centered on the communicable diseases and molecular epidemiology, mainly focusing on the epidemiological regularity and characteristics of infectious diseases, advanced technology for prevention and control of infectious diseases, and vaccine development. He has published more than 400 papers in esteemed journals such as STTT, CMI, JID and EMI, and cited over 5400 times. He has also written more than 20 books on public health, and applied for more than 10 patents.
Prof. Duan's contributions to the field have earned him prestigious accolades, including being acknowledged as "National Hundred, Thousand and Ten-Thousand Talents", “Chinese Outstanding Contribution Award in Epidemiology”. A newly discovered bacterium is named Aeromicrobium duanguangcaii, for his excellent studies on drug resistance, pathogenesis and molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases.
