Dr Wei Wang is a professor and doctoral supervisor in Zhengzhou University School of Public Health and a high-level talent in Henan Province. He has also been recognized as a leading talent in basic research in Central China, a leading academic and technical expert in Henan Province, and an outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship mentor in Henan Province.

Dr Wang is currently Executive Chief Editor of the Journal of Zhengzhou University (Medical Sciences), Director of the Discipline of Occupational Health and Environmental health, also a member of the Ethics Committee of Zhengzhou University and the Degree Committee of the School of Public Health. He is also the vice-chairman of the Occupational Health Committee of the China Occupational Safety and Health Association, the vice-chairman of the Occupational and Environmental Health Branch of the National Association of Health Industry Enterprise Management, the member of a council of the Chinese Society of Environmental Mutagens (the executive member and the vice-secretary-general of the Specialized Committee on Carcinogenicity), and so on.

Prof. Wang is committed to the prevention and control of occupational and environment-related diseases, focusing on the following aspects: (1) Occupational health assessment: Establishing the "Henan Occupational Health Cohort," investigating benchmark doses of hazardous factors and environmental reference standards, etiology, and disease action patterns, as well as injury prevention and healthy enterprise construction. (2) Early disease diagnosis: Conducting screening for various biomarkers associated with diseases such as lung cancer, applying big data and artificial intelligence to develop early diagnosis and prognosis models for disease control. (3) Cancer and aging: Exploring the mechanisms of telomeres, mitochondria, transcriptomes, and metabolomes to identify the triggers and mechanisms of cancer and aging, and searching for preventive and control measures against these conditions.

Prof. Wang has presided over projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, key scientific and technological research projects in Henan Province, international cooperation projects in Henan Province, and the Fund for Excellent Youth of Zhengzhou University, etc. He has published more than 40 SCI-recorded papers, participated in the editing of five academic monographs, won the second prize for scientific and technological progress in Henan Province, and was awarded 10 national invention patents.
