The Department of Health Management was founded in 1983. In 2004, it was approved as a master's degree authorization unit, qualified to award degrees in Master of Social Medicine and Health Management and Master of Public Health (MPH). There are 13 full-time faculties in the Department, including 4 professors, 4 associate professors, 4 lecturers, and 1 Postdoctor. The main research fields include: Health Management, Health Economics, Medical Security, Health Services, Health Behavior, Health Education and Health Promotion, etc. The research was supported by the National Key Research and Development Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Social Science Foundation, and the Humanities and Social Science Planning Fund of the Ministry of Education. In recent years, the department has published over 600 peer-reviewed articles (150 papers on SCI or SSCI). Over 200 Ph.D, Masters or MPH have been awarded. The Department has established cooperative relationship with Johns Hopkins University, Tulane University, Rutgers University, and the University of Melbourne, etc.
