

Dr. Zhang Shenshen is an accomplished female researcher holding a PhD and serving as an Associate Professor. Currently, she serves as a Post Scientist at the Zhongyuan Food Laboratory and is affiliated with the Chinese Nutrition Society and the Chinese Biophysical Society. Dr. Zhang has dedicated her career to the development and functional evaluation of active ingredients from natural products, as well as the research and development of food resources. Her research interests include investigating the pathogenesis and prevention strategies of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, fatty liver, diabetes, and exploring mechanisms related to iron regulation and trace element metabolism. Before moving to Zhengzhou, Dr Zhang obtained BSc, MSc and PhD degrees from Nanchang University. Her supervisor is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Mingyong Xie.
Dr. Zhang has received several prestigious awards, including recognition as a "Three Education People" awardee and "Excellent Class Teacher" at Zhengzhou University. She has contributed significantly to academic research, publishing more than 30 papers in international journals. Dr. Zhang has also successfully led numerous national and provincial research projects, including grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the China Post-Doctoral Program, Henan Province Science and Technology Project, and key research initiatives at universities in Henan Province.
